The organization works closely with marginalized communities in Eastern Sudan State to identify their most pressing needs and develop tailored solutions to address them. Through capacity building and empowerment programs, BRDO seeks to strengthen the capacity of communities to manage their own resources and determine their own development trajectory. and sustainably manage their natural resources.
BRDO's mission is to promote sustainable and resilient development in Sudan, by strengthening local capacities, promoting inclusive and participatory approaches, and fostering partnerships between communities, government and other stakeholders.
In order to achieve its goals, BRDO applies a participatory and community-led approach, where beneficiaries are actively engaged in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the interventions.
The organization works in different sectors such as rural development, climate change adaptation, natural resource management, food security, and gender equality. BRDO focuses on building partnerships and collaborations with other actors at the regional and national levels, including government agencies, civil society organizations, private sector actors, academia, and international organizations.
