WHAT WE LOOK FOR?

BRDO seeks to build strong local institutions communities to play active role in development, peace in Eastern Sudan by inspiring and furnishing the local communities with sufficient life changing skills to capacitate and empower their living. We see a more peaceful and socio-economically advanced Eastern Sudan within their own communities with dignity and sustainability.
The organization aims to address the challenges faced by communities in eastern , Sudan such as poverty, lack of access to basic services, and climate change. BRDO adopts a community-based approach to development, supporting local communities in identifying their needs, priorities, and solutions. Through its programs, BRDO provides support in areas such as food security, livelihoods, and water and sanitation. The organization also works to improve access to education, health and nutrition , and other essential services. In addition, BRDO focuses on building resilience to climate change by supporting activities such as reforestation and sustainable agriculture.
BRDO places a strong emphasis on capacity building, empowering community members with the skills, knowledge, and resources they need to lead sustainable, self-reliant lives.
The organization also promotes gender equality and works to ensure that marginalized groups have equal access to its programs and services with the purpose to help vulnerable people, BRDO has implemented many projects that address issues related to health, education, water, sanitation, and food security. Via various local projects, BRDO has successfully implemented its objectives by combining environmental development with community development and emphasizing promoting new stability methods during testing times. Given the complex geopolitical landscape in Sudan, Kassala puts the organization in close proximity to many difficult areas-- in other words, a bazillion fighting groups in eastern Sudan, BRDO's main project in the region is addressing climate mitigation and adaptation solutions that combine chopping down trees with supporting community health, in a zone with a considerable amount of current need. In this regard, BRDO has implemented initiatives aiming to build sustainable communities.
The organization aims to work directly with farmers in Agro-pastoral livelihood situation, for instance, eastern Sudan village, recognizing that such an approach enables a transfer of good environmental practices to subsequent generations. A culture of water damage containment has been implemented in New Halfa area focusing on developing ways to protect existing water supply developments in delivery lifecycles, and allowing different sectors to develop keys. The aim is to continuously work on more resilient grassroots networks to tackle pressing current problems.
