Poor sanitation and hygiene practices have contributed to widespread health issues in Kassala and Gadarif. The CLTS program aimed to eliminate open defecation and promote hygiene.  

Activities 

Community Mobilization Conducted awareness sessions on the dangers of open defecation.  

 Sanitation Infrastructure: Supported the construction of latrines and handwashing facilities.  

Water Committees: Trained local water committees to manage and maintain water resources. 

Beneficiaries : Over 5,000 households directly benefited from sanitation and water projects.

Impact  

– Certified several communities as free of open defecation.  

– Improved health outcomes and reduced disease outbreaks.
